SUMMARY:Free Locator Program: Pennsylvania One Call: The Keystone of Damage Prevention
DESCRIPTION:The program objectives explain the definitions and terminology used in the PA Act 287 of 1974\, as amended\, a description of a correct notification\, an explanation of marking underground lines with the American Public Works Association (APWA) color code standards\, and an illustration of how to respond through the Karl Automated Response to Locates (KARL) system. The program is approved under the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) water and wastewater operators-training program for 3 contact hours. Those attendees who are licensed water and wastewater operators and are in their 3-year license cycle are eligible for continuing education contact hours. Program designed for member facility owners\, locators and municipalities. Event is from 08:30 to 12:00 PM. Please feel free to check in as early as 8:00 AM. DESCRIPTION:This year\, GBCA\, OSHA\, the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council\, the Philadelphia Building Trades Council\, and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters are working together to promote awareness of fall hazards on the jobsite as part of the nationwide safety campaign\, May 1 – 5\, 2023. As part of this campaign\, which includes the National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction in May\, we are promoting fall protection equipment inspections (FPEI). \nIn preparation for this year’s campaign\, we are offering training: \nDate: April 6\, 2023\nTime: 9:00am – 11:00am\nLocation: Finishing Trades Institute\, 2190 Hornig Road\, Philadelphia\, PA 19116\nThis FREE training is open (no registration necessary!)\, and would benefit apprentice training coordinators and staff\, signatory contractors\, OSHA compliance officers\, business agents\, safety professionals\, etc. The session will cover topics including PPE inspections\, roofing and leading edge issues\, retractables\, and harnesses.
