SUMMARY:AI Driven Personalized Safety Training in Construction Webinar (free)
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\nAI Driven Personalized Safety Training in Construction\nThursday\, October 30 at 2pm ET \n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nIn this webinar\, we’ll showcase a groundbreaking AI-driven\, personalized safety training system that utilizes immersive XR simulation\, biosensors\, and AI to detect workers’ cognitive challenges in real-time and deliver customized safety interventions. The validation results showed significant improvements in workers’ hazard identification performance after receiving personalized training\, with an increase of more than 30%. Moreover\, the training approach was successful in enhancing not only workers’ safety knowledge but also their visual scanning strategies. The personalized training also ensures PPE usage as well as using the correct PPE for that worker. Join us in exploring how this next-generation training can significantly enhance hazard recognition\, reduce incidents\, prevent injuries\, and transform safety on your projects. \n  \n\n\n\nOUR FEATURED SPEAKER\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSogand Hasanzadeh\, Ph.D.\nAssistant Professor\nLyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering\nSogand is also the director of the Intelligent-Inclusive-Safe lab at Purdue University. SUMMARY:Construction Noise & Hearing Loss: Links to Mortality and Dementia: CPWR free webinar
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, November 13th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern (1 hr.) \nConstruction Noise & Hearing Loss: Links to Mortality and Dementia \nHalf of all construction workers experience job-related hearing problems. According to the new edition of CPWR’s Construction Chart Book\, construction workers were 1.7 times more likely to report poor hearing than those not in the industry. \nDespite decades of awareness\, noise-induced hearing loss remains a serious and under-addressed issue. New research from CPWR’s Building Trades National Medical Screening (BTMed) program\, based on health screenings of over 20\,000 construction workers\, reveals a troubling connection: hearing loss is not only widespread in our industry\, but it’s also linked to increased risks of mortality and dementia. \nJoin us for a webinar that explores these findings and describes CPWR’s free training and prevention resources to protect workers from jobsite-related hearing loss. \nModerator:\n• Chris Trahan Cain\, CIH\, Executive Director\, CPWR \nPanelists:\n• Rick Rinehart\, ScD\, Deputy Director\, CPWR and Principal Investigator\, Building Trades Medical Screening Program (BTMed)\n• John Dement\, PhD\, CIH\, Professor Emeritus\, Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine\, Duke University Medical Center\, and Industrial Hygienist and Epidemiologist\, BTMed\n• Marianne Cloeren\, MD\, MPH\, Associate Professor\, University of Maryland School of Medicine\, and Medical Director\, BTMed\n• Jessica Bunting\, MPH\, Research to Practice Director\, CPWR \nClick here to register and submit questions for our panelists in advance. \n

SUMMARY:Focus Four for Health: Addressing Four Major Construction Health Hazards
DESCRIPTION:Health hazards in construction are a serious concern in many industries but very prevalent in construction.  Construction health risks can harm employees and are often overlooked by employers. Just as safety risks are controlled on construction sites\, health risks can also be controlled.   \nJoin us for an important topic with subject matter experts\, Chris Ulriksen\, Certified Safety Professional\, and Mike Kenyon\, Safety Management Professional\, HazTek Safety Management\, with combined 45+ years of EHS experience to discuss OSHA Health Hazards with eye opening case studies on construction sites.  \nThe material presented will discuss multiple types of health hazards and will describe why each is important and to provide practical / specific steps that employers and stakeholders can take to recognize\, reduce\, and control exposures. Affected parties and groups directly impacted by health hazards and to benefit from this presentation include: trade associations\, labor unions\, insurance providers\, state and federal OSHA offices\, industrial hygienists\, safety professionals and C-suite executives. \nKey Learning Objectives are the following: \n\nIdentify health hazards that can have significant impacts on workers and businesses;\nDiscuss efforts to reduce health hazards typically lag behind those for safety hazards on many construction worksites; and\nHealth hazards can be effectively controlled\, just as safety risks are\n\nSpeakers: \nChris Ulriksen\, Director of Life Sciences EHS \nMike Kenyon\, Director of Contractor EHS \n\n \n \n MACSC Monthly Meeting RSVP\n \n \n CommentsThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged. Will you be attending?(Required)\n \n \n Yes\n \n \n \n No\n Company(Required)Name(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Cell Phone NumberEmail(Required)\n \n I will be brining a guest and his or her name(s) is: Guest Fee is $45 per personEmail\n \n Select number of guest.
