SUMMARY:MACSC Monthly Meeting: "Maintaining Structural Safety"
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Jay Thomas\, Vice President\, Structural Technologies \nWhat All Construction Personnel Should Know to Maintain Structural Safety and Avoid Construction Defects on Job Sites. \nDuring new construction\, repairs or modifications to concrete structures\, it is important that contractors focus on structural safety issues. Given the speed at which projects are being completed today\, a basic understanding of the fundamental concepts of how reinforced concrete is designed is critical for contractors to complete projects successfully. \nOne area that is equally important but unfortunately not always considered in site specific safety plans is maintaining the Structural Safety and Capacity of the concrete buildings that we construct or modify. These concepts and procedures are intended to avoid structural collapse\, damage\, load carrying deficiencies\, injuries or costly construction defects. \nPULLMAN is pleased to host this STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES seminar geared towards educating contractors. The presentation is not for the purpose of making structural decisions\, but more to recognize issues\, know when to bring them to the engineer’s attention. As an added benefit\, attendees will also learn valuable skills to recognize and avoid costly delays created by typical construction repairs. \nRegister here
