Construction Worker Mental Health During the COVID 19 Pandemic

Anxiety and depression symptoms significantly worsened nationwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction workers already suffer from an increasing and alarmingly high suicide rate, making it particularly important to understand mental health in the industry during the pandemic. To support that goal, this Data Bulletin examines self-reported symptoms of anxiety and depression in the population using the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) from 2011 to 2018 and in 2020,2 focusing on patterns and changes during the pandemic.
